„Nicolae Testemitanu" University advances in the Ranking of the World’s Universities present online

„Nicolae Testemitanu" State University of Medicine and Pharmacy of the Republic of Moldova climbed 2301 positions in terms of Impact (Visibility) in the ranking of higher education institutions, present online globally in January 2022, compared to January 2021. Pursuant to a report published by the Ranking Web of Universities (Webometrics) in January this year, our institution has surpassed 482 universities, ranking 6570th worldwide, 584th in Central and Eastern Europe, and 1757th at continental level, maintaining its third position among the 24 universities of the Republic of Moldova included in the rating.
In particular, it should be mentioned that Nicolae Testemitanu University ranks first in terms of Transparency among the universities of the Republic of Moldova, last year managing to rise by 316 positions internationally (2406th place).
Founded in 2004 by the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) Cybermetrics Lab, Webometrics is a ranking system for the world’s universities that aims to motivate both institutions and researchers.
Ranking Web of Universities is published twice a year and analyzes over 31 thousand higher education institutions worldwide, according to a series of indicators:
50% - Impact (Visibility) - the total number of external links that the institution's web domain receives from third parties (Ahrefs Majestic);
10% - Transparency (Openness) - the total number of citations of the University researchers that are in the top of the 210 author profiles, from which the first 20 are excluded (Google Scholar Profiles);
40% - Excellence - the quality of scientific articles published in high impact international journals, in the top 10% most cited in 27 disciplines (period taken into account - 2016-2020) (Scimago).
