Launch of reinforcement of France - Republic of Moldova partnership for the training of specialists in public health project

The Hygiene Discipline within the Department of Preventive Medicine (DMP) of Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy of the Republic of Moldova organized the launch meeting of Reinforcement of France - Republic of Moldova partnership for the training of specialists in Public Health project (Renforcement du partenariat France – République de Moldavie pour la formation des spécialistes en Santé Publique – FRAMO). The event took place on November 19, 2025, in an online format.
The launch was attended by the project team from the Hygiene Discipline represented by Associate Professors Elena Ciobanu, Serghei Cebanu, Angela Cazacu-Stratu, Catalina Croitoru and Veronica Ichim - Deputy Head of the Department of External Relations and European Integration, responsible for Francophone cooperation. The French team was represented by Professor Joël Ladner, specialist in public health and epidemiology, coordinator of the team from the University of Rouen, and Marie-Pierre Tavolacci, epidemiologist at the University Hospital of Rouen, France.
Nicolae Testemitanu University obtained this project within the joint project competition „Coopération universitaire franco-moldave”, supported by the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs through Le Fonds Equipe France (FEF-R). Our partner is the Department of Epidemiology and Health Promotion, University of Rouen", mentioned project coordinator Elena Ciobanu, Associate Professor at the Hygiene Discipline, DMP.
The project objectives are: strengthening the pedagogical and scientific skills of teachers through academic mobility programs, exchange of experience and integration of innovative teaching and assessment methods focused on health promotion and Francophone values; modernizing the curriculum of the "Health Promotion and Health Education" module within the Public Health bachelor's degree program, by introducing interactive activities inspired by best European practices, focused on prevention, sustainability and inclusion, creating and strengthening academic networks and interdisciplinary dialogue, by organizing a round table for teachers and students, aimed at disseminating the results, increasing the visibility of the project and stimulating interest in Francophone cooperation.
The project will be implemented between October 10, 2025, and April 15, 2026.
