Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy of the Republic of Moldova ranks first among the four higher education and research institutions of the country listed in the SCImago Institutions Rankings, 2025 edition (SIR, https://www.scimagoir.com/).

At the same time, according to SIR, Nicolae Testemitanu University ranks 2751st globally among the 5051 higher education institutions, 168th among the 476 universities from Eastern Europe included in the ranking and first nationally among the 3 higher education institutions mentioned in the ranking.

In the SIR of medical universities, Nicolae Testemitanu University ranks 2286th worldwide among 2897 universities and 129th among the 205 medical universities from Eastern Europe.

SCImago is a ranking of higher education and research institutions, ranked by a composite indicator, which combines three sets of indicators based on research performance (50%), innovation outcomes (30%) and societal impact (20%) measured by their web visibility.

In the General SCImago ranking, Nicolae Testemitanu University ranks 6402nd globally among 9756 institutions, 276th among 867 research institutions from Eastern Europe included in the top, and first nationally, followed by the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, the State University of Moldova and the Technical University of Moldova.

In the Research ranking, which refers to the volume, impact and quality of the institution's scientific results, our university is classified 5915th globally among the 9756 institutions included in the SCI, 408th among the 867 research institutions in Eastern Europe, and is a leader at the national level.
