Nicolae Testemitanu University researchers awarded with distinctions at “Euroinvent-2021”

19 medals, 5 diplomas of excellence and 3 special distinctions – these are the results registered by researchers and inventors of Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy at EuroInvent-2021 European Exhibition of Creativity and Innovation. The 13th edition of the contest took place online, between May 20-22, in Iasi, Romania. Our researchers were mentioned with 8 gold medals, 6 silver medals and 5 bronze medals for inventions, scientific and doctoral projects, but also for scientific-didactic publications presented at the show.
One of the three special distinctions – “Excellence in Innovation” Medal (Innovation Ambassador) – was awarded to university professor Emil Ceban, Rector of Nicolae Testemitanu University. The list of University decorations has been supplemented with the Diploma and Special Award (Cup) for promoting results in the field of research and innovation. The third special award – WIIPA Special AWARD from the World Invention Intellectual Property Associations, Taiwan – has been granted to a team of researchers consisting of the following members: Vitalie Cobzac, Mariana Jian, Alina Glavan, Ecaterina Sedaia and Polina Ababii, led by university professor Viorel Nacu, for the invention ”Device for fixation and cellularization of small grafts”.
Overall, Nicolae Testemitanu University team has presented 24 works, including 10 made jointly with other institutions, which constitute the results of research and innovation activities, protected by patents and copyrights.
At this year’s exhibition edition, 32 countries have presented 630 inventions and research projects, evaluated by a jury of world-class scientists. At the same time, at the Book Salon (the salon of technical-scientific, artistic and literary books within EuroInvent), organized in partnership with the Romanian Academy of Sciences, 260 publications have been registered. It should be mentioned that two representatives of the University - Viorel Nacu, university professor, inventor, stem cell specialist and Ianos Coretchi, Associate Professor, young inventor in the field of pharmacology and clinical pharmacology – attended the event as members of the International Jury of ”EuroInvent-2021” Salon.
In a thank you letter sent to the Romanian Inventors Forum, Rector Emil Ceban expressed his gratitude and thanked for the appreciation and promotion of inventors from the Republic of Moldova at various exhibitions, international innovation, and technology transfer shows, specifying that our institution participated in all editions of the EuroInvent show. ”In the current pandemic situation, you managed to deliver a high-quality event. We are impressed by the number of countries that have participated in the current edition, but also by the presented inventions and research projects. It demonstrates the competence of your team, which manages to successfully achieve the mission and objectives set to support scientists and young researchers, promote intellectual property and research and innovation institutions, ensure scientific progress, integrate scientific results into the European and global area of research and sustainable economic growth”, the letter says.
EuroInvent is run under the auspices of the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA) and World Invention Intellectual Property Associations (WIIPA), representing an elite European event in the field of innovation and research. The event was held with the support of Moldova National Museum Complex of Iasi, Iasi County Council, Iasi City Hall, private companies, in partnership with the Ministry of Research and Innovation, the Ministry of National Education and Bucharest State Office for Inventions and Trademarks.
