Researchers from ”Nicolae Testemitanu” University were granted numerous awards at ”INFOINVENT” Salon

Inventors from Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy were granted a record number of awards at the 19th edition of ”INFOINVENT” International Specialized Exhibition. In total, the researchers won five special trophies and 26 medals, including 10 gold, 5 silver and 8 bronze.

The "World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) National Prize for Enterprises - 2025" went to Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy, in appreciation of the substantial contributions to the advancement of medical research and the exploitation of technologies with direct applicability in clinical practice.

The Grand Prize for "Best Invention" was offered by the State Agency on Intellectual Property (AGEPI) to the team of authors: Gheorghe Anghelici, Serghei Pisarenco, Oleg Crudu, Gheorghe Lupu, Tatiana Zugrav, Radu Vasiliev, Marina Ceban and Ana Covaci from the Hepatosurgery Laboratory, Center for Abdominal Pathology and Transplantation for the work "Methods of minimally invasive complex treatment of liver cancer".

The "Best Invention Created by a Female Inventor" award was given to scientific researcher Valeriana Pantea, who works in the Biochemistry Laboratory and at the Scientific Center for Medicine.

The National Agency for Research and Development Trophy for the best research project went to the team of authors: Olga Macagonova, Adrian Cociug, Vladimir Ciobanu, Liliana Verestiuc and Viorel Nacu from the Laboratory of Tissue Engineering and Cell Cultures for the project entitled "Evaluation of the regenerative efficacy of biological dressings developed through tissue engineering".

The "WIPO Inventor Award - 2025" was granted to University Professor Nicolae Bodrug, Habilitated Doctor of Medical Sciences, Head of the Discipline of Geriatrics and Occupational Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine, in recognition of the prodigious activity in research, medical training and innovation, reflected in a remarkable portfolio of publications, innovations and patents, as well as the introduction of ozone therapy in the Republic of Moldova.

The exhibition took place from December 3 to 5, 2025 at Moldexpo International Exhibition Center in Chisinau and brought together over 400 inventions, innovative projects and creative products presented by authors from the Republic of Moldova, Romania and other participating countries. The expert committee and the exhibition jury awarded a total of 300 medals, as well as trophies, cups, diplomas and special mentions. During the award ceremony, special mentions were also awarded from international invention exhibitions and partner institutions in Romania - the State Office for Inventions and Trademarks of Romania, the National Institute of Inventics in Iasi, the Romanian Inventors Forum, Gheorghe Asachi Technical University in Iasi, the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca and Titu Maiorescu University in Bucharest. Respectively, 4 works by researchers from our university were mentioned with 3 Diplomas of Excellence and 2 Special Awards.

The exhibition was organized by AGEPI in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Research, the Ministry of Culture, the National Agency for Research and Development and the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Education and Research, in partnership with WIPO, the European Patent Office (EPO) and with the support of the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), the "Strengthening Intellectual Property Rights in Moldova and Ukraine" (EU4IP) project, funded by the European Union, and the Swiss PartnershIP Moldova project.
