The best young people from the Republic of Moldova have decided to build a successful career at Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy. This year, 14 of the 57 high school graduates who got "10" in all baccalaureate exams chose to study at our university. The students were asked what made them embark on a medical career.
Constantin Babuc is an international Olympian in biology, mathematics and physics, and this status ensured his admission, outside the competition, to the Medicine study program. The young man told us that his passion for biology made him continue his studies at Nicolae Testemitanu University, considering it the only university in the country that could offer him the necessary knowledge, experience, opportunities for professional advancement and excellence in scientific research. "I opted for the best higher education institution in the country, where I believe I will be able to capitalize on my potential and obtain a profession required by contemporary society,” the young man stated.
“I will become the first doctor in the history of my family! I made the wisest decision to delve into the amazing mysteries of the vastest field of science. I want to be useful to society by amplifying the knowledge acquired during my school years and bringing that splash of color into the lives of my future patients. I chose Nicolae Testemitanu University, because it is the most well-equipped university in the country, open to the local students, who will build their future at HOME, the place where we are needed more than ever!", said Patricia Catinsus, student of Medicine.
Another very ambitious young woman who opted for the Medicine program is Ana-Maria Gincu. She was inspired by the professionalism of doctors to follow this complex path, but extremely rich in unique experiences, memories, interactions and emotions. "My choice was well-founded, given the high quality of education offered and the University's excellent reputation, as well as the diversity of programs and opportunities available to students. I am proud to join the great community of medical students, and I am convinced that the University will provide me with the ideal environment to develop professionally and personally, contributing to the fulfillment of my dream of becoming a dedicated and competent doctor", concluded Ana-Maria.
Natalia Stradnic, a student at the Medicine program, shared with us that since she was little, she wanted to follow her mother's path: to help people, to offer the necessary advice to prevent diseases and to be useful to the society in which she lives. The student knows that she has a challenging road ahead, but she is sure that she will receive the necessary knowledge to achieve her goal of becoming a good specialist in the field of medicine!
Valeria Budeci also chose the Medicine study program: "My decision was influenced not only by the reputation of the University and the quality of studies, but also by the high school teachers, who instilled in me a passion for exact sciences, especially biology. They, along with my parents, motivated me to follow my dream and develop my knowledge in an elite academic environment. Nicolae Testemitanu University represents the place where a medical student’s dream can turn into reality, under the guidance of exceptional professionals".
According to Evelina Racila, a student of Medicine, her passion for medicine was cultivated in her childhood by her parents, who dedicated themselves to this noble profession over time. "The given choice offered me the opportunity to excel in science at home, in the Republic of Moldova, to fulfill my dream close to the people and places I love, with confidence in life and a prosperous future, due to high quality studies and optimal conditions for the learning process".
In the opinion of Andrea Scutaru, a student of the Medicine program, the desire to develop in the given field appeared at the end of the 11th grade, when she realized how noble the medical profession is, how interesting it is to study your own body, know yourself, and be useful to people, because health is the ultimate value. "I chose Nicolae Testemitanu University because it can provide me with all the resources to become a good specialist, to realize my dream - to create great things and make people happy", the young woman confessed.
Equally excited to study at our university is Emilia Pirtac, who reported that "the desire to become a doctor is a noble aspiration, fueled by the desire to help and improve people's lives. This ideal often appears in the secondary and high school years, when an interest in science and a goal to contribute to the welfare of the community merge into a deep commitment. Nicolae Testemitanu University is the institution where I wanted to follow this path, as it is a prestigious one. At the same time, I was tempted by the possibilities of participating in scientific research activities, international projects, joining student associations and studying in a modern environment. Studies at the University represent a defining step in my professional and personal future, which I took with great certainty".
For her part, Catalina Grejdieru believes that the opportunity to learn from the best specialists motivated her to choose Nicolae Testemitanu University: "I was inspired both by my family and by the medical staff who had a positive impact on my community. I am confident that I will have the necessary support to become a dedicated doctor who helps people and contributes to the development of the health system in our country".
"In my family, health and care for loved ones have always been central topics. My sister, a dentist, was a constant source of inspiration as I saw her in action, restoring patients' teeth. My mother, a nurse, also instilled in me a love for empathic relationships with patients. I learned that medicine is not only about diagnosis and treatment, but also about listening, understanding and providing support", said Bianca Cislari, student of the Dentistry study program.
In Valeria Cigoreanu's view, medicine is not just a profession, but a calling, a symbiosis between pragmatism and selflessness: "I firmly believe that empathy, responsibility and the desire to help people are essential qualities for a future doctor, and I am determined to cultivate them during my studies. Nicolae Testemitanu University represents for me an axis mundi of excellence in medical education and a unique opportunity to develop myself both professionally and personally".
My choice springs from a multitude of factors, but the stimulus that influenced me is based on a deep experience from childhood, Ariadna Vernigora stated. "From a young age I witnessed the suffering of loved ones. My soul had acquired that sensitivity that shook me, and every time I was disappointed in my own strength, because I could not ease their pain. I hope that the family, who gave me freedom in choosing my professional path, will be proud of me, because they realize how indispensable it is for me to face the barriers on the way to this vocation, which basically includes sacrifice in the name of the future of humanity. The adaptation process is doubled by the fact that I was passionate about literature and art, but time will help me to maintain these interests while remaining focused on the trajectory of my dream. Medicine is also one of the few professions categorized as eternal, because advanced technologies will never replace a doctor, technology will remain a coordination tool for doctors or other specialists. At the same time, I believe in the fact that empathy - the foundation of medicine - the feeling of humanity and mutual care will revolutionize society, because this psychological aspect is a consolation for humanity and can save human destinies", Ariadna told us.
Alexandra Cobzac, a student in the Physiokinetotherapy and Rehabilitation program, has always been fascinated by the complexity of the human body and its ability to regenerate, and physiokinetotherapy is the field that perfectly combines these two aspects. "This is a constantly developing field that offers me opportunities to learn and grow professionally. Medical rehabilitation is becoming more and more important, and I want to be part of this positive change", said the young woman.
Ana Sohotchi mentioned that her decision is not a random one: "Since I was little, I witnessed the passion with which my father, a doctor, helped people, every day of his work being an opportunity to change the lives of patients for the better. This dedication inspired me and showed me that medicine is not just a profession, but a vocation, a commitment to bring positive change to the world. Likewise, my academic performance reflects not only my effort and discipline, but also my desire to excel in a field that offers me the opportunity to combine scientific knowledge with empathy and concern for others. I chose this educational institution because it represents not only academic excellence, but also a dedicated and supportive community. I believe that I will find here not only mentors to develop my professional skills, but also colleagues who share the same passion for medicine. I want to contribute to the development of this learning environment and grow both professionally and personally", the future doctor specified.
We thank these students for the fact that they decided to study at home and chose Nicolae Testemitanu University and for the receptivity to share their story that made them opt for these noble professions. We wish everyone good health and great success, tenacity and patience, academic results according to expectations, and to capitalize on every opportunity to continuously excel!
