Winners of doctor - through the eyes of a child drawing contest, 2023 edition

Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy has designated the winners of "Doctor - through the eyes of a child" drawing contest, held from April 7 to June 7, 2023.

The ceremony took place on June 26, with the participants being awarded in three categories: primary, secondary, and high school education, each with three prize-winning places.

In the primary education category (grades I-IV), the winners of the competition were: Dragos Danilov, School of Arts from Coșnița village, Dubasari district – 1st place; Artemii Ghemu, Academician Constantin Sibirschi Theoretical High School from Chisinau, with the work Angels in white robes – 2ndplace; Nicoleta Ciubotaru, School of Fine Arts from Balti - 3rd place.

In the secondary education category (grades V-IX), Iulian Matcovschi, School of Fine Arts from Soldănesti town, won the 1st place for the work "Thinking about health"; Artiom Roșca, School of Fine Arts from Cahul – the 2nd place, for the work "Doctors as heroes of the earth"; and Elizaveta Grusetcaea, Raisa Cojocaru School of Fine Arts from Ungheni town – the 3rd place, with the work "Doctor is the immortal hope".

In the high school education category (grades X-XII), the first place went to Gabriela Chisca, School of Fine Arts from Soldanesti, with the work "Doctor on duty"; second place was won by Lucian Gonța, School of Fine Arts from Soldănești, with the work "The saving doctor", and third place – to Melissa Razumas, the Creative Center for Children and Adolescents from Causeni.

The special award was bestowed by Nicolae Testemitanu University rector upon Marinela Cucos from Ion Creanga Republican Theoretical High School of Balti. The organizers - Communication and Public Relations Department – offered the special award to Ecaterina Ogorodnicov, Ion Creangă Republican Theoretical High School from Balti. Both works served as a source of inspiration for this year's Health Worker and Pharmacist Day banners.

Nicolae Testemitanu University rector, Professor Emil Ceban, noted the impressive number of participants in the current edition - 565 students, specifying that all the works were amazing, and the children demonstrated special artistic abilities: "You are gifted, and this can be seen with the naked eye in your drawings, in which you have shown in a deeply felt and honest manner the Doctor’s personality. I urge you to develop your creative spirit and not stop here, keep going, and try to be somebody in the field you will choose in the future, and we hope you will choose Medicine.”

At the end of the awarding ceremony, Efrosinia Mocan, art teacher from the Creative Center for Children and Adolescents of Causeni town, expressed her gratitude to the University administration for the initiative of organizing this competition, through which young talents can express themselves. Moreover, the teacher emphasized that "between medicine and art there are certain similarities, both fields require creativity, pedantic approach and passion". 

The winners of this year's edition were awarded diplomas and Nicolae Testemitanu University brand products, another 66 children's works were awarded diplomas with a mention, and the other participants received certificates. Also, the most interesting and ingenious drawings will be selected as illustrative material for various projects: exhibitions, banners, diplomas, greeting cards, etc. In all cases, copyright will be respected, indicating the name and surname of the student and the educational institution.
