The recruitment process of young people from India, eligible to study at Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy and in other higher education institutions of our country, will be facilitated due to the opening of a diplomatic mission of the Republic of Moldova in this state. This was announced by H.E. Mrs. Ana Taban, recently appointed by the government as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Moldova to the Republic of India with residence in the city of New Delhi, who undertook a working visit to our university on September 11, 2023.
During the meeting with the University administrative team, the parties established the priorities and pointed out the necessary steps to facilitate communication, promote the country and Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy with the aim of attracting young Indians to studies, emphasizing that the opening of an embassy involves a dialogue at the official level that would give a new impetus to the strengthening of Moldovan-Indian collaboration relations.
First vice-rector Olga Cernetchi, vice-rector for didactic activity, extended cordial congratulations to the distinguished guest on the appointment to this position, noting that previously, the visa application process for Indian students was a difficult one because our country did not have an embassy in India and the documents were processed through the diplomatic mission in Bucharest (Romania). "The desire of the Government of the Republic of Moldova coincided with those of the University and, in particular, with those of Indian citizens - potential candidates for studies, for which we are very grateful, and we hope to have a successful partnership", stressed the first vice-rector.
In the same context, the issue of expanding the current recruitment area of study candidates in India was tackled as well. The official has also been informed that Indian students are involved in extracurricular and volunteer activities through the Association of Medical Students and Residents of Moldova, which helps them integrate more easily into the university community and society in general.
For her part, the ambassador expressed her readiness to provide all the necessary support to our university to facilitate the process of promotion and recruitment of young people from various regions of India, who aspire to pursue higher medical and pharmaceutical studies in the Republic of Moldova.
Afterwards, H.E. Mrs. Ana Taban met with a group of Indian students, with whom she had a friendly discussion about how they integrate into the University and adjust to our society.
