2023 Laureate Students' Gala

Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy of the Republic of Moldova has designated its best students and resident doctors, who stood out from the rest during the current year, through academic success, scientific and organizational skills, as well as participation in a range of extracurricular activities. The celebration of medical students took place during the 11th edition of the Laureate Students Gala, organized in partnership with the Association of Medical Students and Residents from Moldova. The event was organized on December 19.
The rector of Nicolae Testemitanu University, professor Emil Ceban, highlighted the achievements of young medical and pharmacy students: merit scholarships from the state, volunteer participation in solidarity actions for Ukrainian refugees, organization of information campaigns and flash mobs, etc. They also participated in numerous actions with social impact: blood donation campaigns, promoting a healthy lifestyle, training high school students on providing emergency medical aid, greening the areas, organizing visits to hospitalized children etc. At the same time, the students obtained outstanding results at numerous interuniversity, national and international sports competitions.
“You are the best of the best young people of this country - an example to follow. We count a lot on your intelligence, creativity and perseverance. We wish you to become competent specialists in the field of health, promoters of a healthy lifestyle and people with high moral standards and civic responsibility".
Further, the rector handed out the prizes in the Organizational Skills category to:
Daniela Machidon, sixth year student at the Faculty of Medicine no. 1;
Luca Bolandău, fifth year student at the Faculty of Medicine no. 1;
Cristina Grajdean, sixth year student at the Faculty of Medicine no. 1;
Pavel Chisaru, fourth year student at the Faculty of Medicine no. 1;
Jai Saini, fifth year student at the Faculty of Medicine no. 2;
Maria Iepure, fifth year student at the Faculty of Pharmacy;
Ionela Soroceanu, third year student at the Faculty of Stomatology.
In the Studies category, the students who obtained the highest average mark during the years of study were nominated. The awards were handed out by first vice-rector Olga Cernețchi, vice-rector for didactic activity, who mentioned that "quality studies are provided at Nicolae Testemitanu University.” “You are currently caught up in evaluations, but the time will come when you will be admitted to residential studies and enter the workforce, and then you will understand that this knowledge, which you have obtained at our university, is enough to be able to work in any part of the world. I speak from the experience of my colleagues, of your teachers, but also of the more than 60,000 graduates of the University".

The gala continued with the awarding of prizes to the winners of the Research and Innovation category, which were handed out by vice-rector for clinical activity and residency Valeriu Revenco, who conveyed a message to future resident doctors: "It is very important to learn to see the glass as full even if it's only half full. I urge you to put more passion into acquiring new knowledge during the University studies, because your career starts here, as students, then as resident doctors, and continues later in the big world".

Afterwards, the vice-rector for economic and financial activity Victoria Craveț handed out the awards in the Volunteering category. "The nominations during the Gala are further proof that you are the best students, and the fact that you chose Nicolae Testemitanu University shows that you are empathetic. May you keep kindness in your souls, may you enjoy the energetic spirit and youth. The university is always by your side to support all your ideas. May your goals become greater so that you can progress from year to year."

For the second consecutive year, during the Gala, the most active promoters of Nicolae Testemitanu University were nominated. The awards were handed out by Silvia Ciubrei, head of the Communication and Public Relations Department, who emphasized that: "the most effective promotion is done by the students and graduates of our university. We reward those who, through their messages, motivated other young people, students, who have the dream and desire to become doctors, pharmacists, dentists or health specialists".

Maria Muntean, vice president of the Nursing Association of the Republic of Moldova, was also present at the Gala, and handed the Florence Nightingale Trophy to fourth-year students from the Nursing program: Mădălina Oprea, Alexandra Moraru, Emanuela Ridcodubschi and Ana-Maria Gaburici .
At the same time, the Health Trade Union Federation awarded prizes to the most active members of the trade union organization in the field of health. Vice President Natalia Chihai handed out diplomas to the following laureates:

The Gala guests were invited to a cultural-artistic program, with carols and songs, as well as traditional skits characteristic of the winter holidays.
