"Infectious diseases immunoprophylaxis and interpersonal communication" - a new continuing medical education course

A new continuing medical education course called "Infectious diseases immunoprophylaxis and interpersonal communication" has been recently launched by the Epidemiology Discipline, Department of Preventive Medicine, Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy.
The course was attended by epidemiologists and family doctors from the city of Chisinau and districts, who appreciated its usefulness and the provided information, which is much needed in their practical activity. Family doctors positively appreciated the continuing medical education course, noting that they acquired new key skills and abilities in the immunization activity, including for informing the population and counseling with a view to increasing the vaccination rate.
Associate Professor Angela Paraschiv, head of the Epidemiology Discipline, says that the effective interaction between health workers and the population constitutes the key element in promoting immunization and increasing confidence in vaccines. "We invite clinical specialists from different fields of activity, interested in vaccination, to enroll in this course", specified the professor.
The training course beneficiaries will enrich their knowledge in this area, several important topics being tackled, such as: current affairs on the 2030 Immunization Agenda of the World Health Organization, global situation regarding the morbidity from vaccine-preventable diseases, achievements and challenges in carrying out the National Immunization Program, vaccination of the population with various chronic diseases, epidemiological situation regarding cervical cancer and its prevention through vaccination, immunization of the population in crisis situations, current events in the development of new vaccines for the prevention of infectious and non-infectious diseases, interpersonal communication in immunization, vaccines and immunization myths and falsehoods.
Epidemiologists recommend immunization and say that vaccines protect, are safe and effective!
