University Quality Management System – certified in accordance with the ISO 9001:2015 Standard

Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy of the Republic of Moldova has a quality management system (QMS) certified according to the ISO 9001:2015 standard by the certification body CERTIND. This fact is reconfirmed by the certificate granted to our university by the certification body from Bucharest, Romania, on 1 November 2022, which is valid until November 2023. The document certifies the functionality of QMS in the field of higher medical and pharmaceutical education, continuous training of doctors and pharmacists and university scientific research activity.

 This year, the external evaluation was carried out by auditor Vlad Gheorghita an expert of CERTIND Company, on 20 and 21 October. Thus, during the two days of the external audit mission, the expert visited several university subdivisions, conducted interviews, observed the carried out processes and activities, as well as analyzed documented information.

At the end of the external audit mission, during the meeting with Rector Emil Ceban and members of the administrative team of Nicolae Testemitanu University, the Romanian evaluator emphasized that the University Quality Management System is functional and viable, and the applied quality standard is a very high one and requires a lot of effort and professionalism to maintain it.

"You have a full-fledged quality management system and, from personal experience, I found that universities with traditions also have healthy management, a management culture well implemented within the institution, which is your case as well. The University Management Information System has been upgraded on a permanent basis. The entire professional body and the team responsible for quality are very well trained and at a higher level compared to other universities and specialized centers. In a tiny country, you represent a quite large university", said the expert.

The Rector has mentioned that the administrative team pays great attention to the recommendations of the external auditors and, after each audit mission, adjusts the processes and ensures the continuity with a view to meeting all the requirements of the quality standard for continuous improvement. “Our team is very effective and resilient, it is the one that insists, verifies, and imposes the recommended changes and the maintenance of the quality management system", Professor Ceban pointed out. The Rector has emphasized that the team of internal auditors follows systematically the implementation of the recommendations and thanks to this fact, a high level of quality was established.
