The first class of international graduates admitted in spring at “Nicolae Testemitanu” University took their medical oath

The 35 international graduates who were enrolled at Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy from the Republic of Moldova in the spring of 2018, at the Medicine study program, took the Physician's Oath. The ceremony took place on December 7, 2023, in the Senate Hall.
Members of the University's administrative team, deans, vice-deans, heads of departments, professors, students, parents, and friends participated in the solemn event.
On behalf of the Senate and the entire university community, rector Emil Ceban thanked the graduates for choosing to study at our university. "Dear young colleagues, from today on, a new stage in your medical career begins, as you become members of the medical community in your countries. We are convinced that you will practice the profession with integrity, honesty, compassion and responsibility and you will be the ambassadors of Nicolae Testemitanu University in the world", noted Professor Ceban, wishing them great success and nice achievements.
Dean of Faculty of Medicine No. 2 Mircea Betiu urged the graduates to be an example of work and responsibility in the communities where they will be working: "Keep the benevolent attitude towards the patient, for all those who suffer and need your professional help. Keep your mind open to innovation and progress, keep in mind the memories of your teachers and student life. Keep Moldova in your heart!"
With a congratulatory message from the Association of Medical Students and Residents from Moldova came Daniela Machidon, a 6th year student in Medicine, who reminded the graduates about their emotions during the first year of studies, when they took their Student Oath. “These 6 years of studies included various events, which you experienced in a spectacular way. Despite some difficulties, you faced all the challenges and succeeded! You deserve respect for your hard work, extraordinary effort, and incredible perseverance. I wish you success in your medical career, because today begins a new stage in your life. Now you can proudly declare: "I am a doctor!"”

Your encouragement, lessons, and advice you have given us will serve as examples in our lives. We will strive to be healers not only of the human body, but also of the mind and soul. We will be the voices of our patients and advocate for their well-being".
From the total number of 35 graduates, 23 young people are from Israel, 9 -from India, and other 3 persons -from Bulgaria, Norway, and Malaysia, respectively.
It should be mentioned that starting from 2018, the admission of foreign citizens to Nicolae Testemitanu University is organized twice a year: in spring and autumn. Accordingly, students enrolled in spring complete their university studies not in summer, as usual, but at the end of the calendar year.
