European cultural heritage days – marked in Chisinau at a scientific conference

A group of researchers from Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy participated in a panel discussion entitled "Health: a fundamental condition for the sustainable development of society". The event took place on September 20, 2024, at the International Scientific Conference entitled "Yesterday's Cultural Heritage – Implications for the Development of Tomorrow's Society".
The approximately 70 participants in the mentioned session presented the results of research carried out in the fields of biochemistry, surgery, military medicine, hygiene, microbiology, epidemiology and social medicine, thus contributing by 18 scientific articles to the Conference collection of papers, which will be published in Volume VII, supplement to the scientific journal "Authentication and Conservation of Cultural Heritage. Research and Technique".
Alina Ferdohleb, Associate Professor at Nicolae Testemitanu University and moderator of the section emphasized that most of the research was multidisciplinary and was carried out by young people who were trained and active in various institutions, which shows that research and innovation have no boundaries. The works of the section dedicated to health ended with the message “Wherever the art of Medicine is loved, there is also a love for humanity”, addressed to posterity by Hippocrates, father of modern medicine, which we must carry in our hearts.
The conference also included other thematic sections, including Art and mythopoetics of the city in national and international context; Conservation and restoration of cultural heritage – experience and good practices; Linguistics and literary issues. Current challenges; Ethnological heritage: from ignorance to cultural valorization; Historical science between challenges and perspectives; Promotion of heritage through tourism: opportunities and perspectives.
The international scientific conference "Yesterday's cultural heritage – implications for the development of tomorrow's society" took place in Chisinau on September 19-20, 2024. The event, which reached its 10th edition, was held under the patronage of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova in partnership with the TABOR Metropolitan Center for Scientific Research and the European Institute for Multidisciplinary Research (Romania), the Institute of Ethnology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Free University of Berlin (Germany), the State University of Moldova, the Ion Creanga State Pedagogical University, the National Museum of History of Moldova, the Petru Poni Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry (Romania), the National Institute for Health and Medical Research of the Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy of the Republic of Moldova. The Forum was organized in the context of the European Heritage Days and brought together representatives from universities of Romania, Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova.
