The agenda included a series of meetings with important stakeholders from Bucharest.

During the working visit, several official meetings were organized with: Marius Geanta, founder of the Center for Innovation in Medicine; deputy Nelu Tataru, Chair of the Committee for Health and Family within the Romanian Parliament; Monica Cristina Anisie, Chair of the Committee for Education, Youth and Sports of the Romanian Senate; Secretary of State Roxana Minzatu, Department for integrated evaluation and monitoring of programs financed with public and European funds of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister of Romania; university professor Raluca Papacocea, General Director of the Secretariat of Carol Davila Bucharest University of Medicine and Pharmacy.

"The purpose of these meetings was to identify opportunities to create a modern telemedicine laboratory, in Chisinau and Bucharest, within the partner institutions - Nicolae Testemitanu University of Medicine and Pharmacy of the Republic of Moldova and Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy from Bucharest, Romania, in order to train competitive specialists in the field at a European level, and to develop complementary curricula at the sister institutions, ensuring the exchange of best practices between students from both banks of the Prut", stated Rector Emil Ceban.

Thus, for the first time since joining the EU, Romania will implement a Health Operational Program aimed at both investments in medical infrastructure and equipment, as well as in the training of medical personnel, the development of medical procedures and methodologies, health research, the continuation of prevention, early diagnosis and treatment programs, digitization in the medical act etc. As a candidate state, the Republic of Moldova will benefit from the support of the European Union, including pre-accession funds, as was the case with Romania.

"The exchange of experience and best practices between our countries is beneficial, because Romania has many lessons to share, including for the partnership development of medical projects, either from funds dedicated to the EU's neighborhood policy, or financed by the European Commission, such as EU4Health", emphasized Romanian official Roxana Minzatu.

It has been suggested to carry out this project with European funds. A series of consultations should take place in order to implement it, and one of the priority directions of IDEP Moldova activity is the identification of solutions for the absorption of European funds available for the Republic of Moldova, since it obtained EU candidate country status.

It should be reminded that during 17-19 November 2022, a delegation from Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy, led by Rector Emil Ceban, participated in the forum "Boosting the absorption of European funds by the Republic of Moldova – an EU candidate country", held at Aurel Vlaicu University in the city of Arad. During the event, the institution's representatives had the opportunity to learn from Romania's experience on how to implement projects and access European Union funds with a view to enhancing our country's efforts in the European pre-accession process.
