Researchers of ”Nicolae Testemitanu” University appreciated with 42 awards and the exhibition cup at ”Excellent Idea” - 2025

Inventors from ”Nicolae Testemitanu” State University of Medicine and Pharmacy of the Republic of Moldova won 37 medals and the Cup of the International Exhibition of Innovation and Technology Transfer "Excellent Idea", the 4th edition, organized in Chisinau on September 11 and 12 this year.
The exhibition launching ceremony was opened by Jana Chihai, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation at Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy, who emphasized the importance of innovation and creativity as engines of economic development and social progress in the Republic of Moldova. "Excellent Idea" offers a valuable platform for dialogue, cooperation and exchange of experience, representing a space for applied creativity, for courageous ideas that find concrete solutions. In a world increasingly dependent on technologies and knowledge, research and innovation play a fundamental role, along with health education and the sustainable development of any nation," the vice-rector said.
According to Viorel Iustin, head of the Patents Department within the State Agency on Intellectual Property, "this exhibition is clear evidence of our country's innovative potential and commitment to aligning with European standards through research and intellectual property protection."
At the current edition, the Nicolae Testemitanu University team presented 37 scientific papers, including 6 inventions, 6 papers from research projects, 4 from doctoral projects, 4 innovations, 3 works protected by a copyright certification certificate, one published ISI work, 13 textbooks, monographs and guides.
This time too, our researchers have proven that they are the exponents of new discoveries in the field of health. In total, for the inventions, scientific and doctoral projects, as well as the scientific and didactic publications presented at the exhibition, the University's inventors were mentioned with 42 distinctions, of which 37 medals, including 21 gold medals, 12 silver medals, 4 bronze medals, diplomas and 5 special prizes awarded by the "INVENTCOR" International Exhibition in Deva, Romania. The "Excellent Idea" Exhibition Cup went to resident physician Eugeniu Valic, Oncology specialty, Nicolae Testemitanu University, in collaboration with Vladimir Valic, master's student at Dunarea de Jos University in Galati, Romania.
Our university offered the Grand Prize of Nicolae Testemitanu University to Corneliu Birtok-Baneasa, Corneliu GROUP Research and Innovation Association, as well as four other special mentions.
Over 200 participants registered at the current edition of the Exhibition: holders of inventions/patents, innovations/copyright – 35 participants, books – 27 participants, ISI articles – 21 participants, projects – 82 participants, projects for young researchers – 18 participants, unpublished articles – 21 participants.
"Excellent Idea" is a landmark event organized by the Center for Innovation and Technology Transfer of the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova, in collaboration with the Academy of Sciences of Moldova and Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy.
