medici israelDoctors and paramedics from Israel who came to our country to provide medical and humanitarian assistance to refugees from Ukraine are interested in giving lectures or masterclasses for the students of Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy. Courses could be held in Hebrew for students of Israeli origin and in English and Russian for all those interested: students, resident doctors, practitioners, etc. Roman Goldman, one of the doctors of the humanitarian mission in the Republic of Moldova, who had a meeting with Rector Emil Ceban today, March 25, mentioned this fact.

According to the foreign delegate, the team of doctors and paramedics he represents has received excellent training in various areas of medicine, including the field medicine and exceptional circumstances, all of them being doctors of the highest category. Among them there are the best pediatricians, nephrologists, infectious disease doctors of the Israeli medical system. “Every doctor is aware at some point that he has valuable information from his professional practice that he wants to pass on to colleagues, especially the youngest. Thus, these lectures would be a good opportunity for an exchange of experience and knowledge transfer, especially for Israeli students studying at Nicolae Testemitanu University”, stated Roman Goldman. The doctor specified that he prepared a list of health professionals who are currently on the territory of the Republic of Moldova, and the lectures could start next week.

emil cebanRector Emil Ceban welcomed the intention of the Israeli doctors to collaborate with our university, mentioning that in recent years the interinstitutional relations between Nicolae Testemitanu University and Israeli institutions were affected by some political factors. However, the University remains open and available for dialogue and negotiations with the Israeli side in order to revitalize our long-term collaboration.

Regarding the initiative to give lectures to medical students, the rector appreciated the gesture as one of solidarity ̶ a quality specific to health professionals regardless of nationality, spoken language, religion or political color. “It is admirable that coming to our country with a specific purpose  ̶  to help Ukrainian refugees  ̶  you have the will and sufficient strength to get involved in training activities for young doctors”, underlined Rector Emil Ceban.

Currently, about 1000 young people from Israel are studying at Nicolae Testemitanu University.
